The Special Adviser to the Ogun State Governor on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, has said that the lasting peace and stability in Ogun State come from Governor Dapo Abiodun’s careful plans and actions. These efforts aim to improve security, social harmony, and development in the state.

Akinmade shared this while talking to journalists in Abeokuta about what the Abiodun administration has achieved in the last seven years. He pointed out that peace is one of the administration’s biggest successes.

He said that the governor's focus on keeping a peaceful and secure place has led to significant economic growth and better infrastructure in Ogun State.

“One thing you cannot take away from this administration is the peace and stability that we are enjoying in Ogun State. Anywhere you go in the state, you can breathe the air of freedom, safety, and peace.

“This did not happen by accident. It is the result of deliberate government policies and sustained efforts aimed at creating an enabling environment where businesses can thrive, investments can flourish, and citizens can live productively,” he stated.

Akinmade explained that the calm environment in Ogun has attracted both local and foreign investors. This has led to new industries being set up and old businesses expanding. He mentioned that these changes have created jobs and boosted the economy.

He revealed that Ogun State’s economy has grown impressively from about N3 trillion to N17 trillion under Governor Abiodun. This growth places Ogun among the fastest-growing economies in Nigeria.

Akinmade noted that the administration's ISEYA development agenda has been key in providing important infrastructure, improving social services, offering better education, empowering young people and women, and increasing agricultural output.

Highlighting infrastructure achievements, Akinmade said the government has built, renovated, and fixed over 1,700 kilometres of roads across the 20 local government areas. This has greatly improved connectivity and business activities.

He also mentioned new housing estates in major towns, which cater to different types of residents and support the growing population from increased economic activities.

On aviation, he spoke about the new airport, calling it a world-class facility with modern technology. He added that it recently helped transport Ogun State pilgrims for the 2026 Hajj in Saudi Arabia.

Akinmade also pointed out the administration's successes in agriculture, youth and women empowerment, ICT development, and skills training. He highlighted the Ogun TechHub as a smart investment in technology and innovation that helps develop a new generation of digitally skilled young people.

The Special Adviser praised Governor Abiodun for finishing many incomplete projects from previous governments. He said this shows good management of public funds and a commitment to completing projects that benefit the people.

Akinmade believes that Governor Abiodun has done more than expected in governance and service delivery. He added that the governor aims to leave Ogun State in a better state by May 29, 2027, when his tenure ends.

“Governor Abiodun is committed to consolidating on the gains already recorded and ensuring that the state continues on the path of peace, prosperity, and sustainable development. His goal is to leave Ogun State better, stronger, and more competitive than he met it,” Akinmade stated.
