The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said that security officers sent to Osun State for the governorship election will take an oath of neutrality. This step is to make sure that the security forces stay neutral during the election.
INEC Chairman, Mahmood Yakubu, shared this news at a meeting with stakeholders in Osogbo, the state capital. He stressed how important it is to have a peaceful and honest election, asking everyone involved to do their part well.
Yakubu pointed out that INEC is dedicated to holding a free, fair, and credible election. He said that having security personnel play their part is key to making this happen. He also mentioned the need for good teamwork between INEC and security agencies to make sure the election runs smoothly.
The INEC Chairman assured the public that the commission is ready for the election. He said all necessary steps have been taken for a successful voting day. He urged voters to turn out in large numbers and use their voting rights on election day.
