A private security firm in Ondo State, Gallery Security Services Limited, has arrested two men suspected of kidnapping in Ode Irele. This is the headquarters of Irele Local Government Area in the state.
During the operation, the firm reported that its team rescued a 37-year-old woman, Morenike Falona, and dismantled the kidnappers' hideout.
On Sunday, while handing over the suspects to the state police command at Ajagba in Irele Local Government Area, the Security Manager of GSSL, Navy Lieutenant Zakari Abdullahi (retd.), said the suspects would be transferred to the Okitipupa Area Police Command for further investigation and prosecution.
According to him, the victim was taken on June 16 and rescued three days later by a 20-man rescue team from the security firm. He identified the suspects as Obibodefiyie Ajuesie and Monday Lucky.
He stated, "The Gallery Security Services Limited has successfully rescued a kidnap victim and arrested two suspected kidnappers following a coordinated rescue operation in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State.
"The victim, Mrs Morenike Falona, a 37-year-old trader and resident of Ode-Irele, was reportedly abducted at about 10:00 p.m. on June 16, 2026, at Orelopo Street, off Ebute Road, Ode Irele, in Irele Local Government Area of Ondo State. Acting on credible intelligence, Gallery Security Services deployed a 20-man rescue team that conducted an intensive search operation, leading to the successful rescue of the victim at about 6:30 p.m. on June 19, 2026.
"The place is at a palm plantation in Iju-Osun community, Irele LGA. The victim was rescued unharmed. During the operation, the rescue team caught two suspected kidnappers identified as Obibodefiyie Ajuesie, 36, from Ajapa Community, and Monday Lucky, also known as Gazilo, 37, from Akpata Community, both from Ese-Odo Local Government Area of the state."
The security manager emphasized GSSL’s commitment to working with regular security agencies to protect lives and property in the state. He said they would not stop their efforts.
In his comments, the Chief Executive Officer of Gallery Security Services, Chief Bibopere Ajube, praised the public for providing timely and useful information that helped in the rescue mission.
Ajube urged residents in Ondo South Senatorial District to stay alert and keep cooperating with security agencies by reporting any suspicious activities quickly. He declared that the area would no longer be safe for criminals.
"We advise all criminal elements operating within Ondo South Senatorial District to stop their activities or face the full weight of the law.
"Gallery Security Services, along with relevant security agencies and local communities, will keep finding and arresting offenders for prosecution," he declared.
When contacted, the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the successful rescue of the victim and the arrest of the suspects.
He said, "The command has taken over the two suspected kidnappers arrested by operatives of Gallery Security Services Limited in Irele Local Government Area of the state.
"The Command commends the efforts of the GSSL operatives, which led to the safe rescue of the victim and the handover of the suspects to the police for further investigation and legal action. Such efforts show the importance of working together and sharing information among security stakeholders in the fight against crime."
The PPRO mentioned that the suspects are now in police custody as investigations continue to catch other members of the criminal group and bring everyone to justice.
"The suspects will be charged in court once the investigation is complete," Jimoh stated.
