Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, has praised the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu. He appreciated him for starting the joint Ogun-Lagos security operation called Operation Kosaye. The governor called it a smart and brave move that has greatly improved security in both states.
Governor Abiodun said the operation has achieved great results. Coordinated security efforts have led to police searching forests and hiding places along the Ogun-Lagos route. They have arrested many suspects, neutralised armed bandits, and rescued victims of kidnapping.
The governor pointed out that Operation Kosaye has boosted public trust in the Nigeria Police Force. It has shown that security agencies are serious about protecting lives and property.
He mentioned that the ongoing fight against crime has made Ogun and Lagos States less friendly for kidnappers, bandits, and other violent criminals who used to see the area as a safe space.
Mr Abiodun promised that his government would keep providing the needed logistics, support, and technology to make policing better. He believes this will improve the effectiveness of security operations in the state.
According to the governor, investing in security tools, technology for surveillance, and better transport for operations has helped the Nigeria Police Force and other security agencies maintain peace and order.
Mr Abiodun also thanked the Commissioners of Police in Ogun and Lagos, Bode Ojajuni and Tijani Fatai. He praised the officers involved in Operation Kosaye for their professionalism and hard work. Their dedication has played a big part in the successes achieved.
He noted that the operation shows how important it is to work together, share intelligence, and coordinate actions between states to fight new security challenges. He stressed that security agencies can win against criminals when they work well together across state lines.
The governor encouraged other states to follow the Ogun-Lagos example. He wants them to set up similar partnerships that can stop criminals from taking advantage of state borders.
Governor Abiodun confirmed his commitment to backing security agencies with ongoing investment in logistics, technology, and other resources. He said protecting lives and property is a top priority for his government.
