Foundation gives N290m education grant to needy students

The Velocity Humanitarian Foundation has shared N290 million in grants to support needy students in Gombe State.

The founder, Aliyu Mohammed, announced this on Sunday while giving out a N10 million grant to 100 students from different tertiary institutions outside the state.

Adamu Ibrahim represented him during the event. He said the goal was to help needy students with financial support in the state.

Each student received N100,000. This money is meant to help them concentrate on their studies and reduce their financial stress.

Mr Mohammed mentioned that the foundation has been active in various communities in the state. They have helped with paying school fees and medical bills, among other services.

He added that the foundation had previously given N280 million to students at Gombe State University and Federal University, Kashere. This money helped those who could not afford their school fees for the 2024/2025 academic session.

"Today, we came to give some tokens to Gombe State indigenes who are schooling outside the state," he said.

Mr Mohammed urged the students to spend the money wisely on their education. He believes this will help them achieve great things in the future.

Faith Joel, a 300-level student at Federal University, Wukari in Taraba, praised the initiative. She said it would help her pay off her departmental fees, which have been overdue for months.

Mary Maida, a student at Modibbo Adama University in Adamawa State, also thanked the foundation. She said the support comes at a crucial time for students.
