Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Abdullahi Ganduje, has said he is still committed to the ruling party. He called himself neither a nomadic politician nor a vulture “flying from one tree to another” for personal gain or political ease.
The former Kano State governor made this clear while rejecting posters on social media that claimed he had joined the New Democratic Congress. He called the posters false, mischievous, and politically motivated.
In a statement released on Friday by his former Commissioner for Information and Chief of Staff, Muhammad Garba, Ganduje said the posters were part of a misinformation campaign. He believes this was meant to confuse APC supporters and stir up unnecessary political gossip.
The statement said Ganduje has always been steady in his political beliefs and has never thought about leaving the APC, a party he once led as National Chairman. “It is not only false but also illogical for anyone to insinuate that Ganduje has joined the NDC; such a claim lacks both political and logical foundation,” the statement said.
Ganduje emphasized that the APC is Nigeria’s largest political party. He believes it is gaining popularity across the country and strengthening its position under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership.
The statement described the spread of the posters as the work of desperate political troublemakers trying to damage Ganduje’s reputation and create worry within the ruling party.
Ganduje also mentioned that they have identified those behind the fake posters. He warned that unless these individuals quickly removed the false materials and stopped sharing them, they would face legal action.
He urged APC members, supporters, and the general public to ignore the posters completely. He stated that they do not show his political views or plans.
The statement reaffirmed Ganduje’s commitment to working with Tinubu and the APC leadership. He aims to build on the successes of the Renewed Hope Agenda and further strengthen the party for upcoming political activities.
It also advised the public to only trust official communications from Ganduje and the correct channels of the APC regarding his political actions.
