The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced winners in various by-elections held across Nigeria on Saturday.
The results indicate that the All Progressive Congress won most of the seats, while the Peoples Democratic Party only won in Rivers South-East.
Here is a summary of the results from INEC returning officers.
Enugu
APC’s candidate, Ikeje Asogwa, won the Enugu North Senatorial District by-election.
Asogwa received 162,360 votes, beating his closest rival, Chief Nestor Ezeme of the PDP, who got 9,299 votes.
This by-election was held to replace the late Senator Okey Ezea, who passed away on November 18, 2025, at the age of 62.
Kebbi
INEC declared Rabiu Garba Aiki of the APC as the winner of the Zuru State Constituency by-election in the Kebbi State House of Assembly.
Aiki got 4,887 votes, defeating Aliyu Galadima Muhammad of the Labour Party, who only scored 168 votes.
This seat became vacant after the death of the former Speaker, Muhammad Usman Zuru.
Kano
INEC also named Rabiu Shuaibu of the APC as the winner of the Dawakin Kudu/Warawa Federal Constituency by-election in Kano State.
Shuaibu received 35,356 votes, defeating Lawal Garba-Haruna of the Allied Peoples Movement, who got 268 votes, and Abubakar Yahaya-Muhammad of the Labour Party, who scored 98 votes.
This by-election took place after the death of Muhammad Danjuma-Hassan of the New Nigeria Peoples Party.
Rivers
PDP’s candidate, Olaka Nwogu, won the Rivers South-East Senatorial District by-election.
Nwogu polled 47,961 votes to beat Osar Erewari of the APC, who got 1,647 votes.
This election was held after the death of Senator Barry Mpigi in February.
Ondo
Dayo Faduyile of the APC won the Ondo South Senatorial District by-election.
Faduyile received 68,474 votes, defeating Adeolu Akinwunmi of the Allied People’s Movement, who got 1,411 votes.
This election followed the appointment of Senator Jimoh Ibrahim as Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations.
Nasarawa
As of this report, INEC has not yet announced the results for the Nasarawa North Senatorial District by-election.
The election is being held across Nasarawa Eggon, Akwanga, and Wamba local government areas to fill the seat left vacant by the late Senator Godiya Akwashiki, who died after a long illness.
