List of Most Expensive Football Teams for 2025/2026 Season

Chelsea FC is now the team with the most expensive squad in the world as we enter the 2025/26 season. They have spent over €1.1 billion to put together their team, according to industry estimates.

They are closely followed by Manchester City FC, which has also crossed the €1 billion mark. Both teams are in a league of their own when it comes to spending on players.

Years of aggressive buying and reshaping their squads have pushed Chelsea and Manchester City to the top of global spending.

A post from Planet Football’s website on Saturday reveals the clubs with the highest net spending on players for the 2025/2026 season:

• Manchester United FC, €947.5m
• Arsenal FC, €924.1m
• Tottenham Hotspur FC, €870.2m

• Real Madrid CF, €710m
• Juventus FC, €523.3m

These rankings are based on Transfermarkt’s estimates of total transfer fees paid to build the current squads.
