The Atlas Lions of Morocco made history on Tuesday. They became the first African team to reach the Round of 16 in the ongoing FIFA World Cup.
Morocco won against the Netherlands 3-2 in a penalty shootout after a tough match that ended 1-1 after 120 minutes of play.
Morocco's goalkeeper was the star of the night. He saved the last penalty kick from the Dutch team, who had already missed two earlier kicks. This gave Morocco’s striker Saibari the chance to score the final kick of the game.
With this victory, the Netherlands joined other big European teams that have been knocked out. Paraguay also eliminated Germany in a penalty shootout.
