Sevilla takes time on Adams transfer plans

La Liga team Sevilla FC is not rushing to decide on selling Akor Adams and other players. This is despite growing interest in the Nigerian striker, according to PUNCH Sports Extra.

Sevilla had a tough season last year. They faced a financial crisis and barely avoided relegation by just three points. Now, they are planning a big summer rebuild under manager Luis Plaza. They want to overhaul the squad to be more competitive.

Spanish sports daily AS reports that Adams is one of the players attracting a lot of interest. He has become one of Sevilla’s key attacking players.

French club Olympique de Marseille is leading the race for the Super Eagles striker. Sevilla has set his price at €30m.

If this deal happens, it would be a great profit for Sevilla. They bought Adams from Montpellier HSC for €5.5m in January 2025. The 26-year-old has become essential for the team after a slow start in Spain.

Last season, Adams scored 10 goals and provided three assists in 32 La Liga matches. His performance has caught the attention of many clubs as the summer transfer window approaches.

But reports from Spain say Sevilla is taking their time with Adams and other players. The club needs to sell players to raise money, cut down its wage bill, and meet La Liga’s financial rules before they can register new signings.

The report also mentions that Premier League club Fulham FC is watching the situation closely. If Adams joins Fulham, he would reunite with fellow Nigerians Calvin Bassey and Alex Iwobi.

Fulham is looking for a striker after they failed to sign Ricardo Pepi and let Raul Jimenez leave when his contract ended.

Clubs from Saudi Arabia have also shown interest in Adams. But he is said to prefer staying in Europe, which might rule out a move to the Gulf.

If the transfer goes through for the reported price, Adams would be the third-most expensive player ever sold by Sevilla. He would follow Jules Kounde’s €50m move to FC Barcelona and Diego Carlos’ €31m transfer to Aston Villa.
