Top 10 Most Expensive Football Teams for 2025/2026 Season

Chelsea FC has come out on top as the most expensive football squad in the world for the 2025/26 season. The team was put together at a transfer cost that goes over €1.1 billion, based on industry estimates.

They are just ahead of Manchester City FC, who also hit the €1 billion mark. This puts both of these Premier League teams in a league of their own when it comes to spending on their squads.

Years of aggressive buying and reshaping their teams have led both clubs to the top of the spending ranks globally.

A post from Planet Football's website on Saturday showed the clubs with the highest net spending on players for the 2025/2026 season.
