Uzodimma Celebrates Oyebanji’s Win, Hails Quality Leadership

The Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State, Hope Uzodimma, has congratulated Ekiti State residents on Governor Biodun Oyebanji's victory in the recent governorship election.

PUNCH Online reports that Oyebanji, the All Progressives Congress candidate, was re-elected after receiving 319,224 votes. He defeated his closest rivals, Olumayokun Oluyede from the Peoples Democratic Party and Dare Bejide from the African Democratic Congress, across all 16 local government areas in the state.

After the results were announced, APC supporters and residents filled the streets of Ado Ekiti to celebrate the win.

Speaking to journalists at the Ekiti State Government House on Sunday, shortly after the results were declared, Uzodimma said Oyebanji’s victory shows the quality of leadership and performance in his administration.

“As a party, we are delighted. We congratulate Governor Biodun Oyebanji on this remarkable victory and on the excellent performance he has delivered in Ekiti State. We also congratulate the national leader of our great party, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and the leadership of the APC at all levels,” he said.

Uzodimma noted that the large turnout of supporters and the strong backing for Oyebanji showed public trust in his leadership.

“The massive turnout of our supporters in Ekiti State and their overwhelming support for our governor is a clear demonstration of confidence in his leadership and performance,” he said.

Uzodimma further stated that this result is proof that good governance brings electoral success.

“We are happy as a party. We are happy as progressive governors. We are proud that one of our own has demonstrated that good governance yields positive results,” he stated.

The Imo State governor also praised President Bola Tinubu for ongoing development efforts nationwide. He mentioned that despite economic difficulties, Nigerians are staying patient with the administration.

“We commend the leadership of President Bola Tinubu, whose policies are increasingly being appreciated across the country. Our democracy is growing steadily. Achievements are being recorded, the economy is becoming stronger, and our politics is becoming more sustainable. For all these, we give glory to Almighty God,” he said.

He also recognized Nigerians for their resilience, showing hope that continued cooperation will boost national development under the APC-led government.
