Grammy-nominated Afrobeats star Asake put on a special one-night-only show of his hit album M$NEY on Sunday at London’s Theatre Royal Drury Lane. This was shared in a press release with PREMIUM TIMES.
The invite-only event was done in partnership with Spotify. It was a gathering for friends, family, and many of Asake’s top fans on the streaming platform.
This performance was Asake’s first live show of M$NEY since it came out on 4 May.
The talented singer performed songs from the album with a live orchestra in a theatre atmosphere. The show also included four new tracks, which fans heard for the first time.
The whole performance was recorded and will be available as a concert film on Spotify soon.
M$NEY has been described as a reflection on gratitude, wealth, spirituality, and ambition. It shows Asake’s unique mix of Afrobeats beats, catchy melodies, and Yoruba storytelling.
Since it launched, the album has topped streaming charts in over 19 countries, including Nigeria, and reached No. 8 in the United States. Due to its success, Asake was named the No. 15 digital artist worldwide by Kworb Data.
